UEFA Euro 2020 - Wearing Your Custom Nail Art to Celebrate the Return of Football

After a dormant sports spring and summer in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, things are back in action in 2021, especially in the world of international sports. The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics begin in late July, and the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament began in June and runs through mid-July. Both events were delayed by one year thanks to the pandemic.

To make matters more exciting, instead of one country hosting all the action, the matches will be spread out among 11 countries, ensuring that each contest will be played in front of passionate fans, which will be a wonderful sight after seeing matches played before empty stadiums for much of the past year.

Show your national pride with our custom nail art for the country you're rooting for in the Euro 2020 as well at the Tokyo Olympics later this summer. In fact, wearing Euro 2020 nail art is the perfect way to support your favorite team!

Here's a look at some of the top football teams in the tournament.

1. Italy

The Azzurri are among the favorites going into the quarterfinal round with defending champion Portugal and France, the 2018 World Cup champions, eliminated from the tournament. The Italian team has strong midfielders, which is a departure from previous teams that focused on specialized defenders and strikers. Strong two-way players include Nicola Barella, Marco Verratti, and Lorenzo Pellegrini. These are players that fit head coach Roberto Mancini's philosophy, and the Italian team has succeeded by being proactive—controlling possession and pressing opposing sides into making mistakes.

Celebrate your love of everything Italian with the traditional three-colored flag of green, white, and red bars.

2. Czech Republic

Rock the red, white, and blue angled colors of the Czech Republic flag while pulling for the team that has qualified for every Euro since 1996, which is when the nation broke away from Czechoslovakia. After failing to win a match at Euro 2016, they are in the quarterfinals this year after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. After taking over as head coach three years ago, Jaroslav Silhavy's promotion from assistant has produced major dividends, especially when the Czechs upset the Netherlands in the round of 16 2-0 on the heels of gals from Tomas Holes and Patrik Schick.

3. England

Possibly the European country most known for football has had the most hype but hasn't been able to deliver a championship in major international play in recent decades. Head coach Gareth Southgate has made great progress in the last five years since taking over, including a World Cup semifinal appearance in 2018 after beating Colombia via penalty kicks.

Many of the players that grit their teeth in that World Cup are three years older and wiser, but the team is still very young overall, including teenagers Jade Bellingham and Bukayo Saka. The team will also enjoy a home-field advantage of sorts, as all remaining games through the championship will take place at London's Wembley Stadium.

See if the English team can take their play to the next level with custom nail art featuring traditional colors of white and red—the white flag that provides the background of a red cross that spans both the vertical and horizontal edges of the flag.

4. France

The French were shocked by Switzerland in the round of 16 in penalty kicks, but they are still a formidable side that will be a factor in Olympic play. The loss means that won't be able to be the first team to complete the double-double twice—winning the Euro as defending World Cup champs like they did in 1998 and 2000.

This version of Les Bleus featuring Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, and Kylian Mbappe draws comparisons to the Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry teams of a generation ago. Head coach Didier Deschamps also starred on the '98 and '00 teams that set the standard for French football.

Show your support with the classic red, white, and blue bars that is instantly recognized as the French flag and colors.

5. Portugal

While Portgual was upset by Belgium 1-0 in the round of 16, prepare for their upcoming Olympic appearance by decking your nails in their green and red color scheme and root for star Cristiano Ronaldo, who, at age 36, is starting to run out of international tournaments to shine in. Since Portugal won Euro 2016, they added offensive weapons Diogo Jota and Joao Felix along with midfielders Bernando Silva and Bruno Fernandes, who play for Manchester City and Manchester United of the Premier League, respectively.

Cheers to the team we like!
